Call the tech support for your TV set. There may be a servcie setup fault, or a component failed that controls the placement of the text, or it may even be a user setup that can be done.

If there is a failure, the set will have to be serviced.

I would guess that you refered to the user manual for any possiblity that there is a setup for the placement of the text...

Closed captioning (CC) usually is enabled/disabled as part of initial set up. It also can be enabled by default when the TV speakers are turned off.

How do I get closed captioning?

According to the Samsung support website there is an option in the menu which is called "caption" which can be selected off or on.

This is a link to a copy of the manual.

Samsung UN65F6300AF manual

In the manual it says to select the onscreen menu and then ...

Subtitles

Screen Menu > Broadcasting > Caption Try Now

View subtitles along with subtitle-enabled digital and analog broadcasts.

Show Subtitles

Screen Menu > Broadcasting > Caption > Caption Try Now

Show subtitles. Subtitles will be displayed when you choose a broadcast that supports subtitles.
"" DVD Subtitles are only available when connected to an external input connector.

Can't turn closed caption off on our Samsung Series 7000 LED TV

Make sure it isn't your cable or satellite TV service making the captions, as closed captions on your TV are separate from the ones produced by your service provider. If it isn't your cable/ satellite, open the TV menu and find the Audio/Visual properties section of the menu (audio and visual might be separate sections), and find the closed captions or CC options menu. When you do just change the setting from whatever it is on, to off. If your TV remote is fancier than mine (which it probably is), their could possibly be a closed caption button on the remote for easy access. In this case just push the button and change what you need to.

How do I make the closed caption bigger. It has a black background and white letters that are too small. How do I fix it?

I suspect it depends on the TV. On my Viewsonic TV, I can select my CC font by choosing Menu > Option > Closed Caption. When the CC is set to On, go to Option and select Font Size.

On a Samsung TV, I use Menu > Setup > Caption. With the Caption set to on, then choose Digital Caption Option and Size.

Note if the captions are being provided by a set-top box, you may need to set the caption size on the box directly.

Please add a comment with your TV manufacturer and model; I'll try to find the specific directions for your TV.

I hope this helps.

I haven't been able to put closed captioning on tv. I don't understand how and what code to use to get the closed captioning to work.

Enable Caption Using the Original Remote
  1. Press the [CCD] button to change the CCD mode.
  2. Using this button will set the Closed Caption mode when viewing a DTV or TV channel.
Enable Caption Using the TV Menu
  1. Open the Menu screen, select the third icon, in the middle, this is the Setup Menu.
  2. In the Setup Menu, choose the Caption option.
  3. Caption: There are three items in it - Analog Closed Caption, Digital Closed Caption and Digital Caption Style
  • Analog Closed Caption: CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, TEXT1,TEXT2, TEXT3, TEXT4.
  • Digital Closed Caption: Service1, Service2, Service3, Service4, Service5, Service6.
  • Digital Caption Style: There are two Caption Styles. One is the automatic function set as the broadcaster, while the other is the custom style where you can adjust the font size, color, opacity, background color etc., accordingly.

How can I get closed caption on Samsung 46'' tv?

My 46 samsung has a "cc" button on the remote. Pressing it turns Closed Capt "on" or "off."
Also, from the Plug and Play menu, you'll find "Captions" as an item to manage. "Default" produces smaller, slanted text. "CC1" produces all Caps in a larger text. Unfortunately, one of the selections is not "Mute," where the captions come on when the tv is on "mute." Even cheap crt's have that feature. DOH!!!!

closed caption depends on your tv stations. If a tv station does not support providng closed captions, then it will not really show closed captions. Closed captions depends really on the feature of a tv station
