Re: display again

On the desktop you have there the "my computer" icon, just right then select "manage", then under the "computer management" you have there "device manager" just click it, then on the opposite side you will found a "display adapters", then double click it. from there you will found the name of your display adapter, just right click it and then select "uninstall". then restart your system.
thats all.

I down loaded regtool and avast onto my laptop the avast was free . we never had a problem w/ our wireless b4 but now i can connect to the internet but it cant open any pages i troubleshot it and got, the...

Uninstall Avast and see if that solves the internet connection problem. If it does, Google and download 'Microsoft Security Essentials'. It is working just as good as Avast for all the machines I send out of my shop and it is free as well.
If it does not solve it, depending on what Windows you are using, you should try a system restore to a day before your internet started acting up.
Let me know and feel free to rate if it solves it. If not, I will continue to try and help.

Advent 7113 will not read cd drive

This could be the lense giving up.

Try a few different disc type (eg CD's DVD's CDrom, DVDrom etc) - if any of them work, that should indicate the laser is fine all round.

I'm trying to sort my Advent 7110 laptop at the moment, you haven't a recovery disc have u? LOL! Seriously though have ya?

Powers up no video on screen or external monitor seems laptop has endured a strike to the keyboard area, noticed it when i removed it to check for loose connections.

u must be be sure yr system is up n working most times u power it u see the green led that one is bcos its on a power source. now couple yr system back the way it was. power it on make sure the green led is on, then press the caps lock or the fn + num lock key on yr keyborad n see if the caps lock led n num lock led will come up. if it doesnt come up then yr system wont display even with a CRT. now remove yr ram(memory) then replace it back n be sure its seated firmly again power yr system up if it doesnt come up try using a diff ram thats working well n test yr system again. if still not on then try replacing the processor. next tell me what happend so i know.
thank u
hope this helps

Computer is not recognizing my cd/dvd drive

Umm..Try install all the drivers of your system. the CD was enclosed in your system. if ever the cd is not work you should download the driver of your system.

or After installing a new windows do not restart your system until you finish all the driver installation and also the driver of your CD/DVD.

I 100% pinpoint that the your CD/DVD needs a driver. so install and you'll be fine.
