We recently moved our hitachi 53UDX10B projection TV about 2 ft. and the magic focus (which is automatic) is not setting right. It skips the blue color focus completely and does not seem to do a thing to fix it. The screen has a 3-D image with the green color forming a sort of back shadow on images. Also, on the left side, the alignment seems to be a bit off. From the research I've done so far, I think it may be a convergence IC's problem, I'm not sure. I live in a small town where the repair shop won't touch my TV. I have however checked to see if any wiring was loose and it all seemed secure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I can't believe I found this website. We have the same problem. Our projection tv is about 5 years old and we have had no problems until now. At first we thought it was our cable connections and have disconnected/reconnected, bought new cables, tried to make adjustments. etc. without any response. I developed a double image on about half of the left side of the screen the rest of the picture is clear and good. convergence goes through its motions but does not correct problem,Have tried many things. Seen The previous person thanked your for solving the problem hehe.

We have had the conversion board replaced three times since we've owned the Tv. Granted is is 7 yrs old, However maybe someone should look into this recurring problem. Im seeing double images. But if i was to go and try to adjust the color when i select that adjustments the double image isn't there its on the other adjustment selections.
