Display Shows Nothing.

I turned the unit on, and it lit up. But the display is blank. No indication as to what station AM/FM I'm on. Clock display also blank. Radio seems to work, and it plays my i-Touch. Will this resolve itself after an hour with back-up batteries out, and then turning it back on, or is there something else thnat needs to be done?
