Question about Bose Lifestyle 28 System

1 Answer

Volume Hi, The volume seems to be stuck. When using the remote you can see on the system that the volume level is going up (or down). It shows the level at 30, 40, 50, etc. But the volume coming out of the speakers does not change. The problem seemed to come out of no where. Hope someone can help. Thanks, tgunn

I had the same problem and when I shut the system off to reboot the sound output went away altogether. Now I have no sound at all.

I had this problem and checked the main wire going from console to bass unit, it was loose from where I had moved the unit to insert another device (RCA Jacks). Apparently if the wire from the unit is loose, it over - rides the volume and by default adjusts it to 30. Additionally, I reset the system console and bass unit console, during this process. Try this, it might fix your problem.

I cant find my remote, and my TV's volume buttons seem to be stuck. I need to be able to turn the volume up and down, but they wont do anything. Do any other remotes work with this TV, or am I out of luck? have a bad capacitor in the deflection area of your TV. This bad cap will raise the high voltage to a level unaccustomed to the power supply. Eventually this TV will shut down. You will need a tech to find the capacitor or two and replace them. This will lower the voltage to a proper and working level. The remote or universal one, will not operate your TV properly at this time. A common problem for your Curtis Mathis. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support.

I cannot get the volume to go up or is stuck at one level. I have just replaced the battery, and all other functions work fine. The remote is about 2yrs old.

If you have other (Universal) remotes in your home try programming one of them to operate your Bose.I have a different Bose system for my TV and can operate the on/off and volume from my universal remote. The code I use is 440, I show another code of 302 that may work.

Have an Hitachi 60sx12b. the sound meter bar stays on. can manually adjust the sound up but will go back down to 0. tv remote or sat. remote doesn't work at all. Please help

It sounds either volume down button is bad that turns volume down on its own or system control chip got defective and decreasing volume level.
Press volume down button on tv front and check is it working properly.
Let me know to find out further info to solve the issue.

Volume control

I had the same problem as this, but have lost my remote, so the system is know useles. Any way back to the point if you wiggle the cable around that goes in the speaker zone port then turn it off and back on then it should work :-D.

Volume increases on its own intermittently

When the volume increased did the display show it doing so as if someone was turning the knob?  I mean did the volume go from like level 15 to 30 or did the unit's level stay constant while the audio volume increased?
Were you alone or sharing the room with a jokester who has a universal remote?
Does this problem occur when the batteries are removed from your remote?
Are you sure the 'volume up' button on the unit itself is disengaging properly after being pressed?

Sansui tv/vcr combo is stuck on highest volume.

If you have the remote, have you tried it ?
Have you tried the volume button on the front of the set ?
If neither the remote or the button will work, then you may have a problem with the microprocessor IC (system control). If this is the case, then the set might not be economical to repair.
Perhaps the volume "up" button is stuck ?
