My personal choice would be for Western Digital green series drives

7200 RPM drives with as large a CACHE as possible would be the main part of my specs.

Faster speeds are becoming available but they are still quite new technology so just for now you might want to cross them off the list too

Seagate has taken some hits recently with firmware issues so for the moment they would not be on my list either

SATA interface hard drives ar the only ones supported by this unit so other than what I have said the choice is quite large.

Testimonial: "This is definitely helpful. Any good place you recommend for me to purchase the whole unit + the hard drives? [email protected]"

    AH where to buy ?

That depends on where in the world you are but my own choice is from a good local parts wholesale shop.

Don't be put off by the word wholesale many of them will deal with individuals and smaller purchases.

The savings can be pretty good.

Next stop would be Ebay and a reputable seller with plenty of good ratings. Again the savings can be superb.

I live in Canada now but get ebay parts from China and Australia on a regular basis (do watch currency conversions though and possible customs duties). So many chinese suppliers offer free postage It makes you wonder how they can make any money on some things?

So now you are into Tiger direct and those types. Beware many of these guys no longer have good prices and with tiger watch out for rebates (or lack of when you send them in)

last is usually your big box stores

Quite a few options but I hope the advice is useful.

Hi..i need ur assistance..i cannot open my yahoo mail

Yes your guess may be is right.

First Try
Below is activity to remove any possibility of infection, but before give one try changing you Primary DNS to 4.2.2.2 and secondary DNS to 8.8.8.8
Might be DNS issue. Follow the link on how to change dns
http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-find-out-what-my-dns-servers-address-is/

Try accessing yahoo mail. If still doesnt works. You can try following

Second Try,
Before running winsockfix make sure you note down ip address and dns settings of your LAN Card. May refer to above link on where you can find ip and dns information

Run winsock fix
http://files.snapfiles.com/localdl936/WinsockxpFix.exe

Third Try

There might be malware, spyware, or adware infection on your webbrowser.

Best way to deal with such kind of issues is to boot in safe mode and clear all your temp and temporary files.

1) Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools
2) Click on Internet Options
3) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files
4) You may also want to check the box "Delete all offline content"
5) Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it deletes the temporary internet files
6) You can now click on Delete Cookies and click OK to delete cookies that websites have placed on your hard drive

Also, try downloading and executing some of spyware and related kind of virus removal tools. Below are few such tools

Hijackthis, This tool is most effecting and also screw things up if not used properly. Remove only things which looks like going on browser and starting from http or some enteries with "no files" or "missing" keyword

Do not remove select or remove any entries starting with HKLM
and also make sure not to delete any entries which sounds like your antivirus, sound services, display services etc

Who are 3 hard drive magnet manufacturers? I need to have magnets manufactured that are similar to the magnet ''assemblies'' that are in hard drives. I've done quite a bit of searching, and can't find any....

You might be able to use magnets from disused/faulty hard drives. These magnets are very strong especially the standard hard drives from the PC desktop computers.

What does the Hard drive look like as a chip inside, or where is it? (map)

There is usually a door or slide panel on the bottom of the machine. But I have to know this. If you do replace it do you know which kind to buy? Do you know how to format it and install the operating system? One other thought, some hard drives are located under the keyboard. If you locate the drive you can determine the kind to replace it with by looking at the connector. One the hard drive are there two rows of pins surrounded by a rectangular box? One pin should be missing. Or are there two flat connectors, one being bigger than the other and both having a downward pointing slot? If this is the first case then you'll need to replace it with a 160G IDE drive (or less). If this is the second case, it's a SATA drive and you can replace it with whatever size you can afford. When you're ready to install the drive and the operating system, email me.

Hard drive

You will need any 2.5" inch hard drive. The size that you choose is your option.

However, I do recommend at least 60-80 gigabytes minimum for any operating system these days.

You will want to be sure that you are not buying a SERIAL ATA drive as this particular model still uses the standard IDE interface hard drives.

Also note that there are different speeds of hard drives. For laptops, the usual speeds are 4200 RPM and 5400 RPM. In order to gain the best performance, you will want to find a hard drive with the 5400 RPM speed.

I have taken the liberty of looking up a couple good hard drives on newegg.com. (The best site for buying PC parts...as well as many other things.)

The following link is what I consider to be a pretty good deal. Good size at 160GB and is 5400 RPM.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148224

The next link is more for economy if you don't want to spend that much money. It is an 80GB drive with the better 5400 RPM speed for performance. This is the lowest I would go whether your a hardcore user or even a casual user. Great price for this drive. :)

If you have any further questions, please come back and ask them. I would rather continue helping you to find a solution than to receive a lower rating.

I'll be watching. :)
