When I turn there is pink thin vertical line appearing on my 17" i Mac dual core computer, which was not there before!

May be this is a problem of your Graphics Drivers. Try to have your Graphics Drivers updated.

There is a problem with the monitor. Try resetting the SMC:

If that does not resolve the issue, it will need repair.

There is a vertical thin line going up the center of the screen. It's appears when I turn the monitor on and the only time it disappears is when the screen is white.

change your vga setting and monitor setting by right clicking on desktop try using your monitor different htz setting in advance tab and monitor setting

It is the problem of monitor pcb in vertical section.check vertical ic for dry soldring. Resolder the ic if problem still on then change ic or check components related ith it. check continuity of vertical deflection coil.
