Water leaks from bottom of door

two things. 1 seal at bottom of dishwasher damaged or 2 the float swith that shuts water flow off is damaged or stuck. This float is located at the front of the dishwasher possibly on the right hand side. There is a plastic cup like device that lifts up as the water is added to a certain height then it shuts off the water. This float can get clogged and sticks in the down position. the float has a shaft that goes through the bottom of the dishwasher and connects to a triggering device that shuts off water as it rises.
