if I forget the bios password and I must have the motherboard fixed..what can happen to my files? will they be erased??

- shit...i have a Acer Aspire 6930 and i can't find the CMOS cell! i read that the cmos cell should be easily visible and removable but i can't find it! could you help me?

no bios reset not erased any harddisk data.
For reset bios password you have to open back side cover of laptop then you find motherbord chipset .
Then pull out cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes then all settings are defaults then it not want pasword.

Open screw in back side cover of laptop then find motherbord and pull out cmos cell for 10 minutes thats it.

your files will be safe. A BIOS password will not affect files on a hard drive, it just affects your ability to enter the BIOS screen on your laptop.
