-   Its not a hardware issue, the toshiba FN keys arent normal standard FN keys for generic laptops. They need special drivers to run. Its really hard to find them for windows xp if your laptop came with vista. If they work in vista and not windows xp its a driver problem. You might be able to find them online somewhere, but you need the drivers. The keys dont show up as a device in device manager so its not an unknown dveice or a known device, its just an extension of the keyboard and hwo the computer handles those keys' signals. -   Lord_Richard

Hi, the FN key on the laptop is only used like FN+F2 for wireless for example, if you find the FN key and F1-F12 keys dont go work together, the only fix is replacing the keyboard but its quite expensive
