Reformating or repair PS2 memory card

I've been getting some kinda error (jam) memory card when I tried to access my memory card from the browser (when you don't put any disc into the PS2 and click on the browser). IT will jam after the second line of block appears. Now, is there any solution for it? I hav not get this kinda error before this and my memory card is still usable though not accessible through the console directly, which means I cant delete old game data ;3

Very likely that you have some kind of contamination from Dust or dirt getting into your circuits. To solve this problem will require a detail internal Cleaning of the motherboard. I have fooud all kinds of stuff including dead insects decaying on the circuits and causing crazy stuff like this to happen.

I have a silver slim ps2 model number SCPH-77001. Everytime I play a ps1 game on it (which it has no problems with) it wont read my ps1 memory card. I've tried it on both slots, tried 4-5 other ps1...

You shouldnt have too. I think I know the problem. Turn on your ps2 without a game in it and it would take you to the home screen. After that go to browser with your ps1 memory card and select it. And then it should give you an option to format it. Hope this helps

  • Turn on your PS2 without a disc in it. This will bring you to a menu that says "Browser" and "System Configuration"
  • Choose Browser.
  • There you will be able to access data on your Memory Cards
  • Please reply if you have any more questions. Good Luck! Please give 4 thumbs up if I helped!

New ps1 mem card wont formaton ps2...

I have read that some manufacture PS1 memory cards will not work properly on the PS2. I would suggest trying another PS2 to see if it's a problem with your specific PS2. If the memory card doesn't pop up on the browser screen of another PS2, it could be defective or incompatible. If it does work on another PS2, it could be something weird going on with your memory card slot on your PS2.

Playstation 2 won't play DVDs

if it's a fat PS2 and
model SCPH 30001, SCPH 35001
(not including the models with an 'R' after the model #.

these models need the following to play DVDs:
- PS2 DVD remote with IR unit
- PS2 DVD disc player (sold with DVD remote w/ IR unit)
- PS2 memory card

you copied the DVD disc to the memory card. you used the memory card to play DVDs.

later models didn't need the memory card to play DVDs.

hope this helps :D

Corrupted Data on PS2 memory card

I don't know if you have been trying to delete the data with a game inside the ps2, but in case you have, try this.

Turn on the system WITHOUT a game inside, select BROWSER, the MEMORY CARD ICON, and i believe the corrupted data icon is a grayish black square. Choose options and then delete.
I am also heard that inserting a music cd will work as well, probably just has to not be a game inside the ps2.

Corrupted data comes from turning off the ps2, or removing the memory card while the game loads or saves data to/from memory card.
I really hope that helps, ps2's are meant to be played! Good luck.

Disc read error

Your PS2 lens is faulty or it is physically jammed in it's metal rod which stops the lens to move smoothy. you better open the PS2 console and observe it offline for jam. or replace the lens with a new one.
