Zr100 tape stuck

I have zr100 that will power up but will not eject the tape that is currently in there. I took out the 2 batteries and let it sit for a while and then reinstalled the batteries and still won't open the door. Is there a manual way that I can get my tape out and is there a way to fix this problem?

Thanks

I have exactly the same problem. My students are in the middle of filming a movie. The camera worked fine everyday, including yesterday. Today we got the message 'remove the cassette,' but we can't remove it. Pushing eject opens the door, but it won't come out. There doesn't seem to be a manual way to remove tape. Furthermore, the tape will not play or rewind.

Tape is stuck in cannon zr 100 camera and will not eject

There should be a manual eject button. You know like on CD-ROM's there was a small whole for a paperclip to fit into, there should be one on that camera. This will eject manual, and becareful the tape might be caught on the head.

Tape will not eject / Battery full

while the eject process is trying to happen remove the battery and replace it. keep initiating the eject process and removing the battery and it should finally eject. If you attempt to use the camera again put in a new tape so you don't lose a tape that contains footage you may want to save.

1. I removed the battery. 2. With the power switch On position and holding the tape ejected I inserted the battery back on & it ejected the stuck tape.

Usually a chime happens when you open the plastic cover just before it opens. If you plug it into the electrical outlet does it eject that way?

Minitape will not eject

On another forum here, the suggestion was that you wrap on the screen side of the camera with your knuckles. This method absolutely has proven to work on three ZR100's I have for the school I work at.

Try it yourself and see.

Canon zr100 died: no power

If you have had the camera for a long time, it may have simply died. This may not help, but you could leave the camera on untill the battery loses all power, then try to turn it back on, and see if it works.

The mechanism got stuck. Open the cassette compartment screws and apply external DC to the Power input and eject the tape. If this is not possible refer to a skilled technician. If you need the service manuals and mechanism for replacement write to us.
