I have a new printer of the type above, and I can't seem to change the
preferences to reflect NOT reverse order. It keeps going back to reverse
order, unless I change the "preferences" once the print job has been ordered
up by the computer. In the screen where you tell it which printer to use
and it asks preferences, it will bring iup the screen where I can deselect
"Reverse Order" and then it will print in the correct order. If I ask for
page 1, it will print page 1, even when set for reverse order.
What could be the problem?
BTW, none of my messages are showing up here from today, does anyone else
see them?

again. It just wouldn't work. We did uninstall the Monitor software that
seemed to interfere with it. Also my printer driver software CD said it was
bad and then wouldn't read upat all, so in order to reinstall it I had to
download a driver. Well, last night the printer decided to fix itself, now
it prints in normal order. I did some updates with Norton, so maybe that
fixed it, I don't know.
Thx for the info. In each app I'll check prefs as I go to make sure they
are set the way I want too.
I appreciate the dialog. Blessings!

you haveto do that within the drivers preferances dialogue. Do this by going
to Start / settings / printers and select the icon for the printer in use.
Right click on the icon and when the dialogue appears select preferances and
make your changes in there.
Within word you have to set revers order in word's own options menue system.

"reference order" selected. According to Compaq, unless I want to try
reloading the driver, or if that doesn't work reload Windows XP, I'll just
have to live with it.
As I said, I installed some software for the monitor, which was after the
fact of using it for a week, but I just found the disk and read in the book
to install it. My monitor is a Compaq LCD and it was a "Plug and Play" and
I shouldn't have needed the software. Well, the softward caused my printer
program to be corrupted and actually ruined the CD somehow or made it so
that Windows won't read it up. Now, with help of Tech Support I have
downloaded a new printer driver, but I'm chicken to install it for fear of
more stuff happening. The Monitor softward I put on has been uninstalled,
so I'll dry again later. Compaq acknowledged that they have been seeing
this same problem and it is bug.

read it up. While installing the software I found out I was supposed to
install for my new monitor, a window popped up saying the computer had
recognized new hardward, namely this printer, which I had installed with
it's drive 3 days ago and has been working. Now the CD Rom won't even read
up so I can try reinstalling it. I'm afraid to uninstall it bc if the CD
rom is no good, I'll have no printer driver. AT least the printer is making
good printouts. Just in reverse order.

is the "default settings" these settings will be used everytimes you don't
change the config after, so just deselect reverse order in printer in the
control panel (properties on the printer) then try it... It will probably
work!
