Re: audio

Sounds like a failing audio IC, or capacitor in the audio circuit, probably an IC or bad connection @ the IC. technical schematic or the shop if one is not familiar with component repair!!
good luck stereo tech

Was watching tv heard a sound like breaking glass then picture started freaking out. now when you turn it on all you hear is a scratching sound, and the picture wont come on.please, give me ideas ! model...

If you had a picture, even briefly, after the sound you heard then in all liklihood it's the color wheel that broke. Not a DIY friendly project unless you're very good with electrical/mechanical repairs, especially small fragile items :(

I have a Sony 50" WEGA rear projection tv. Last night it made a popping sound and then the screen went black. I could still hear audio at that time. I turned the tv off and now there is a blinking red...

It sounds lamp in tv got broken as you heard pop sound of it, replace lamp in tv to fix the issue.
Blinking light would be Lamp light at tv front that shows lamp is dead.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and mentioned in tv user manual.

TV will not turn on. Clicking noise heard from inside.

These sets use what is called a "switch mode" power supply. In order for them to work there is a capacitor that "kick" starts the process. If that cap goes bad, the power supply will not start up. Also, there are other caps inside that maintain the oscillation required for the power supply to work. There are 2 options for you here.

1) Replace the entire power supply module.
2) Repair the existing one.

Sicne these types of power supplies are not the easies to diagnose or repair, I would suggest that you replace the power supply module. That should resolve the problem.

Please note that there are other causes of the reported problem, but hte power module becoming defective is the most common.

While watching tv we heard a loud popping sound, then the screen went black.

Good Day, ginabrownb;

When your TV talks to you loudly, it is a really good idea that you call a FACTORY AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER.

They can come to your home and give you an estimate, so you can determine if you want "it" fixed.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

sounds like the projector globe is gone. i think you will need to replace it. if you are lucky there should be a pannel on the side or rear of the tv that allows you to replace the globe. pricey though.

good luck

Toshiba tz50v51 popping sound

Possible problems: * The TV set may be unplugged. * A fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or switched off. * The remote control unit (RCU) may be disabled. Solutions: * Make sure the TV/VCR are plugged in and the wall switch is on. * Check the fuse or circuit breaker. Test the outlet with a lamp. * Replace the RCU's batteries: if this fails exchange the unit.
