Keyboard will not work i am using on screen keyboad

Seems like you have spilt liquid on the keyboard?

the liquid causes connections between the circuit board in keyboard which causes the keys to not work properly.

u can try take off the keys and get to keyboard, you might be able to clean it with isopropyl alchohol and a cotton bud to fix it.

if you cant get the keyboard out then there is nothing you can do!

When the keyboard quits working, here's what you can do but you will either need an external keyboard to do this, or use the on-screen keyboard on Windows.

1) Click on Start, goto the Control Panel, Device Manager, then uninstall the keyboard(s) listed in here. Reboot the computer. When it's back in Windows, try the keyboard again. If it still doesn't work you will need to install the latest drivers from Dell's website.

Replace the inside of the keyboard with a new piece. You can find a cheap keyboard from Papatek.com or an electronics store. Simply take apart the new keyboard, pull the keys off your keyboard, lay the plastic piece on top and replace your keys.

The keyboards on laptops are somewhat fragile, and would be the first thing that should be tried. They are not too hard to change, and relatively inexpensive, about $15 on ebay. You could plug in a external, USB keyboard to use temporarily too.

There would be an Icon in the system tray where you see your time and date (refer the image)


double click on that icon and you will get


uncheck the use filter keys box and the keyboard would start working

I guess you have a mechanical problem, sounds like the mother board have some issues on starting all devices.

If you could use keyboard to go in the bios, and see the screen, if would be the OS that need to be repaired.

unlock the keyboard lock

try using a blower to blow the keyboad from dust if it doesnt work then u need to replace the entire keyboard.
