Question about Epson Stylus CX4600 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Printer was not used a lot for a couple of months. I put in all new ink cartridges but the only color that will print is black. Green does print but comes out aqua. Red will not print at all.
I don't know if this will work on an Epson, but it does on Cannon. The pads on the cartridges or the ink jets in the printer head may be cloged with dry ink. Get some Q-tips and rubbing alcohol (water is a poor substitute). Take out the ink cartridges and touch the pad on the bottom with a Q-tip (one for each color). If there is color the cartridge pad is OK. Take a fresh Q-tip dip it in rubbing alcohol and GENTLY rub the little holes on the bottom of the plastic box the cartridges go in. Thse are the print head jets. You should see color. You may need to clean it a couple of times if the ink has dried down into the jets. It is OK to have the Q-tip pretty wet, but not dripping.
Hope this helps
