Kenmore dryer model# 110.63942101. How do I get access to replace the start switch? I am not able to figure out how to open the top panel where the switch is located.
The console has removable end caps. The white plastic end caps lift off by prying on the top from the back of the console. Sometimes inserting a flat screwdriver in the slot at the top in the back of the end cap and carefully prying upward, makes it easier to pop them loose. The cap will pull off towards you as you are facing the unit from the front. Once the caps come off, there is a screw under each one. Loosen the screws and the panel it will lift up. There are some excellent exploded view diagrams that you can reference at searspartdirect.com. Just type in the model number you provided and look under the "Top and Console" heading. The end caps I'm talking about are listed as items 14 and 18.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope you finds this information helpful.
