Do you have a wireless card in the system?

If it is a laptop, you first need to connect to the router wired. Create a name and encryption, then disconnect and let windows search for the connection.

Don't use WEP, encryption is too weak and be hacked into within 10 minutes. Use WPA-SK AES or higher.

To find out the router address, go to the command line and type tracert www.telus.net or anything else. The first address returned is the router address.
