How to type in capital letters on facit typewriter?

There is a carriage shifting screw on both sides of the typewriter. You will recognize this because it is a screw that has a big bump head with felt on it. It is being hit when you hit that shift lever. You will have to loosen the securing nut first before adjusting.

If your typewriter types using a print WHEEL the Cap S is probably broken off. Replace the print wheel

There are two things that people mess up when changing printwheels and ribbons. Is that the ribbon is not in the guides properly. The other is that the latch the holds the type wheel is not locked in the forward position.

If the shift key isn't working you waisted your money.

Take out the printwheel, manually turn it look for bent or broken spokes on it, or just breplace it.

U HAVE NOT UNLOCKED THE CARRIAGE. LOOK AT THE VERY ENDS OF THE CARRIAGE AND U WILL FIND A LOCK THAT HAS TO BE REALEASED, OR THE LOCK COULD BE COMBINED WITH THE PAPER LINE SPACE SELECTOR.

Under the ribbon there is a motor that drives the print wheel try to get some light oil on the front and rear bearings (wd 40 usally works well) its a little hard to get to the rear one.
