Bushnell 1500 Pinseeker Tournament Edition optics problem
I have a Bushnell 1500 Pinseeker Tournament Edition that is a great device. Unfortunately, mine appears to have developed something on one of the interior lenses or viewing rings that looks suspiciously like bacteria or mold, light yellow and translucent on the one hand, and a black oval spot with a red center on the other. While neither is in the center of the viewfinder, I am looking for disassembly instructions in order to clean the interior lenses.

This is what happens to Pinseekers when the eyepiece cap in not used. Sunlight is focused through the lens right on the surface of the Liquid Crystal Display.(LCD) The heat generated burns into the surface of the display. The black spot happens when the pinseeker was left pointing skyward, when the sun is high, for a hour or so. The LCD can be replaced. I would have it aligned if it needs it. Mail it in to bushnell for repairs. mtg
