Assuming the ink levels are adequate, it seems that you have the default setting for printing set to "Fast".
To alter this setting:
1. Click on the Start button on the bottom left corner of your task bar. 2. Click Settings. 3. Click Printers and Faxes. 4. Right-click on the printer. 5. Choose Printing preferences... 6. It should open to the "Main" tab. If not, click on the "Main" tab at the top. 7. On the "Print quality" section, choose the quality that you want to be the default. Fast is the faded quality you are seeing. High is the best quality, but uses a lot of ink. Custom allows you to set your own quality settings.
Be mindful, if you are seeing only faded printouts in a single application, then you may have changed the print settings for that application that won't effect any of your other programs. You do that by having clicked "properties" while printing from inside that application.
You can change that back by simply closing and re-opening that particular application.
