Whirlpool 6 sense model WSC5513- A+ X side by side, without ice or water dispenser. Refrigerator part not cooling properly. Temperature setting is -18 degrees Celsius for the freezer and 2 degrees Celsius for the refrigerator. Freezer works fine with a temperature measurement of -18 Celsius, however the refrigerator compartment won't go below 8 degrees Celsius. Help!!!

please check the following:

• Check the temperature setting
• Assure that there is enough room for air flow in the refrigerator or freezer
• Check for air flow restrictions in vents
• Test the temperature control
• Clean the condensor coils
• Check the door seals
• Test the door switch
• Test defrost heater
• Test defrost timer
• Test evaporator fan
• Check for a clogged drain tube
• Check for refrigerant leak

The heater has a timer, and a temperature sensor. It senses when the water has turned to ice the temperature has reached certain degree. If the sensor or the timer malfunction then you would end up with the heater coming on too soon and the ice would not have time to freeze.

you have to have water pressure to get water and ice you could get a tank and pump to put your drinking water in or get a good filter for your low quality water

Hello pryorjonw. You may need a new dual water valve, because the part going to the icemaker may be bad, the ice sensing arm may be in the up/off position, the ice bucket may not be positioned properly not triggering the icebucket sensing switch, the condenser coil might be dirty, or the freezer may not be freezing enough to make ice while everything else seems to be staying frozen. To see if your freezer is cold enough, squeeze your icecream carton, as that is the first to thaw if there is a problem.

there is a tank in the refrigerator section that hlds about 1.5 gal of water as you dispense it refills and pushes out the cold water. if your unit is new it will need a day to cool down the tank of water before you will get cold cold water at the dispenser
