Question about Olympus Camedia D-380 Digital Camera
Indoor picturew with flash look fine, but all outdoor pictures look to be overexposed. Also noticed the flash while taking outdoor shots. Settings are set to "automatic".
The onlything i can sugest you try is to reset the camera. Im not sure how to do this other then to remove the rechargable battery and the button battery. Its a little round silver disk looking thing. Let it sit over night and see if it resets. Have you tried snapping a picture from every mode? TV,AV,SCN,Manual and Auto? Do they look washed out on your computer? Can you take a picture at 640X480 (S) and upload it so i can see what it looks like? Post a link to the image.

SOURCE: Overexposure on outdoors shots
i think it is a case of defective apparture system. the system controlling the change of apparture opening has been locked. the reason may be friction in the blade movement or defective flex pcb carring the signal to the apparture motor.

1. Adjust ISO or ASA 100
2. Adjust AWB Indoor florescent or Bulb while outdoor select sunny or foggy it depends of the place

SOURCE: White-out of outdoor scenes
This was not a solution; it was the problem.
I had a new shutter installed by a professional for $85. It now works pretty well but I bought another digital camera.

SOURCE: outdoor shots are blue
What I believe is going on is your white balance setting has been set to incandescent light which on your camera is a light bulb. For outdoor shots you should have the camera set to auto white balance, or have the white balance symbol set to the sun icon or the cloud icon depending on the conditions outside. I hope this helps!

i have the same exact problem with mine. it's two and a half years old as well. i also noticed that if you try taking pictures in any of the best shot modes the pictures come out looking like paintings.
also, did you ever try cleaning the lens?
