    Same error problem.

  • jassun Jun 02, 2008

I tried disconnecting it, taking out the cartridge, reloading, even not using it for weeks but the error still remains! I dont have a manual for this one...last thing I am thinking is to buy a new cartridge, this one is practically new though!

Throw it in the garbage or recycle if you can. Buy other than a Lexmark is the best solution.
Buying new cartridges does nothing, except pads Lexmark's bottom line.

How to get the printer to read new ink cartilage for Printer MFC-420CN

The machine uses an optical reader to tell if the cartridge is full or not, if it is not reading fully cartridge as such then I would try power cycling the machine (unplug it for 30 sec) and see if it reads them then. If not I would call Brother and try to get them to tell you how to do a reset, you can probably find this on the internet somewhere as well.

Printer wont read SD cards does read sony memory

If it does not seat (fit) properly, why say the printer will not read SD cards? It certainly will read SD cards that are supported. You can still upload to computer and print from there as you suggested.

My printer will not read my photo cards

Issue When using a large-capacity memory card (usually 128 MB and higher), the printer appears to lock up or freeze, and the printer may display an error message. Solution Allow the printer to completely read the memory card when it is first inserted before performing any action on the printer. If the memory card reader LED is blinking green, that means that the card is being read by the printer. Wait for the LED to stop blinking.

Printer isn'treading card

According to Lexmark's website, the printer will not read a memory card larger than 256MB. They specifically mentioned xD cards, but not cover the other types of cards. I have a 512MB SD card, and had the same problem, so I would guess it can't read anything over 256.
