First the blue beater stopped turning, took it back and exchanged, 4 days later the green beater won't turn, HELP!!!! Sunbeam offers no solution or troubleshooting guide, It cost $98.72. Has this happened to anyone else?
For whatever reason, Sunbeam must have decided to cut on costs and used a plastic gear to transfer power to the beater. I had my Sunbeam for two years and the plastic gear decided to break. End of mixer. You cannot find a replacement part anywhere. It is the last sunbeam I will buy.

This will definitely be a problem with the actual beater gearbox unit inside the front and under the top handle of the machine.
I've had my wifes one apart and it was difficult at best to even do that, so my recommendation is to take it back to the shop if it is still in the warranty period.
If not, take it to a small machine mechanic and get a Quote for repair before anything is done as it's quite likely that the repair will cost as much as a new mixer.
I searched for replacement beaters for Blacker & Decker SM-100 type 1 (SM100) electric stand mixer for years. I found the Sunbeam Mixmaster Mixer Replacement Beaters for stand mixers, item 4955, at a large Ace hardware store. They were priced over $16.00, so you may consider buying a new stand mixer. The beaters are the correct length, snap in and grip correctly even though the ends are curved like a half ball rather than flat as the originals. The beaters turns well but I haven't tested them with the bowl because I need to find the turn table that I have in storage. The beater set was design ed to replace parts for Sunbeam stand models 2355-1, 2356-1 and 2360-2.
the best stand mixer is a hobart n 50 its a little expensive, but if you use your mixer all the time, its worth the investment, buy 6 to 8 sunbeams, or kitchenaids, to 1HOBART N 50. metalgears in transmission, and in planetary, all the others have nylon gears
I have the same one, and the turn table has never turned on it's own. from looking at the bottom of the stand, i think the mixers are supposed to turn the bowl, so i just give it a little turn, and the mixers kinda take care of the rest. BTW, i got 2 sets of beaters with mine and i dont know what the second set is for, do you? contact me at email@example.com
