Remote Worked Until my husband played a video cassette

Our remote worked until my husband played a video cassette in our VCR/DVR recorder-player. Now when we try to get the TV to play the picture won't come on. We have Comcast Cable. I have the manual but it's not helpful regarding this. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Change The Batteries and then try reprogramming the remote..
