What is it that you want to do? Replace the shaft seal, because it is leaking, and replace the impeller as well? Or did your impeller break, and you want to replace it?

if so, these are difficult impellers to remove. Because you don't have the best of access, to grab a hold of the impeller, to twist it off the shaft, which will be spun counterclockwise. But first, you have to get access to the shaft, on the opposite side of the motor, and lock into place so it will not turn, as you unspin the impeller. You will either use a flat blade screwdriver or, or a 7/16 inch wrench.

good luck

I have a Kenmore model 110 top loader. Will not drain or spin on any setting. I have checked and bypassed lid switch, I am able to lower drain tube to manually drain washer. Any suggestions?

Two listed causes for this problem are bad or broken drive belt (I would suspect warn if it still agitates, but does not spin).
Next one is bad drum motor and that calls for a replacement of the part.
I would myself look at a possible third.
You have a pump located at the outlet tubes connecting point beneath the drum. I would check that to see if it makes a clicking sound first to see if power is reaching so that it is getting power. If it is, then I would check the wiring to see which leads power the pumps motor and bench test it (after removing it) to see if it is frozen.
If it is not then check to see if the impeller itself is turning.
If frozen ir still working but impeller isn't turning you need to replace that.
I actually would bet 5 bucks that there is your problem.
Good luck.

Ap-125 homelite gas watwer pump pull cord replace

few years late but here: guessing your problem area is the impeller blade? remove impeller blade by turning clockwise ( i put a screwdriver in the pull cord fin to stop shaft). Then remove spring around rubber gasket behind blade (then rubber gasket pulls off shaft. everything else just UN-bolts. Just figured it out myself today.

Grinding noise in dishwasher. 4 day after warranty..Can I fix it myself...Need your help... Thank You, Sandi

Grinding noise is due to a cracked impeller which can be accessed by removing the spray arm. Sometimes a poor washing complaint is common after this wash impeller has cracked. Remove power first before investigating.

The motor shaft has started to rust and swells out and this swelling cracks the upper impeller. Most times a new seal and impeller kit can cure this complaint but sanding and cleaning of motor shaft is required before replacing the new seals and impellers.

Pump disassembly

I removed the impeller on my DW761UQB. The instructions were molded into the plastic pump housing. This is how I DID MINE: Remove motor mount screws. Remove the chopper screw (screw only goes into impeller, not motor shaft). Remove chopper and rotate/remove strainer. Place socket or wrench on impeller tip and place another wrench on rear of motor's plastic fan. Unscrew fan from impeller shaft ( threads are LEFT handed, turn CW). Once fan is 'backed off' of the impeller, CAREFULLY pry the motor/fan from pump housing (impeller is attached to motor shaft via splines). Don't crack the delicate plastic pump housing. Mine was stuck, but separated with moderate force. Now remove the impeller/seals from the pump housing. This worked for MY above mentioned model, I don't know what other models it applies to. I am not a pro.

May be the drainpump that has something stuck into it. Check that:)

Impeller or clog?

It sounds like you've done all the preliminaries, but now it appears you may have a bad drain pump. If the pump is only humming and water is not draining, the motor is probably bad.'s a few more questions to consider: 1. Is there water being left in the tub? Definitely a bad pump possibility. 2. When you had to pump open, were you able to spin the impeller? Sometimes small items like a piece of gravel can stop the impeller from turning. 3. Did you check the ENTIRE drain line all the way to the standpipe? You could have a pinched or clogged line still. If you've already tried everything, then I suggest purchasing a new drain pump. The prices vary depending on model, but they all are pretty simple to replace. Generally, there is one (maybe two) screws holding it in place. Disconnect the inlet and outlet drain hoses on the the pump, and remove the electrical connector. Make sure you have the washer unplugged when you do this. save you from a huge mess the next time, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and use you shop vac to drain the water THROUGH the drain line. That way you don't have a soppy mess to clean up afterwards. Good luck and let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
