Do you have office installed?
if you do, what happens if you open a powerpoint file?
if you don't, use powerpoint viewer or openoffice.org

if this doesn't answer your question, respond

also, before i forget about it, it may be possible the powerpoint files are newer than your version, like you can't see (the most likely used) powerpoint 2003

    try the viewer anyway

1) Try this.If the the file is .ppt, rename it to be .pptx. Then open those PowerPoint files.
2) If it does not work, repair your Office 2007 installation or do a System Restore to a time when you could open the open the files without any problems. To do System Restore follow these steps:
Click My Computer, select C:
In C: , select Windows folder
In Windows folder, open system32 folder
Now, double click rstrui to do System Restore to the time before you install protector plus antivirus 2010 trial version
After system restore, you pc will restart and your files will be restored.
Now try to open the files.
Good luck!

I wan't to open power point

First off, you need to have a copy of PowerPoint Installed.
If you do, then in most cases you can click Start / All Programs / Microsoft Office / and click Power Point.

If you don't have powerpoint you can get the free powerpoint viewer to VIEW the slideshows without having powerpoint installed.

If you need to open a powerpoint slideshow and don't own microsoft office you will have to purchase a copy from almost any computer store.

If you have to make a slide show and don't have Microsoft Office you can always use the FREE OpenOffice software that can open most MS Office documents and has all the same features as MS Office.

Powerpoint

Try http://www.1001freefonts.com/ for lots of different and interesting writing styles. Search for 'free font download' to find a lot more. You will need to copy the .ttf files to C:/Windows/Fonts and restart for them to show up in Powerpoint.

Can't use powerpoint 07

I have had this problem, you didn't put in the product key most likely, without the product key you are only allowed to open office (powerpoint, word, etc) 25 times. After you can continue to open with the reduction of you cant edit the slides or the show you have limited options, all you can really do is view a show.

PowerPoint Slide Show View Distortion

Well not knowing what is causing the problem, can i suggest a bit of an extreme but very effective method?

You will want to restart your pc before logging into the other account. That will allow you to rename it without problems.
Login to your laptop using an administrator account. Rename your profile to oldprofile.old or similar.

It sounds like its one of those lovely settings Microsoft likes to save in the \applicaiton data\ area of a profile.
