Question about Clarion DXZ438R CD Player

1 Answer

Clarion DXZ438R A friend of mine has removed her Clarion Dx7438R stereo from her old car and has asked me to fit it to her new car. unfortunatly she left the origional cage with the old car, I have tried to use a universal cage but the clarion unit doesnt stay in position. I have found a place to purchase cages for Clarions, unfortunatly though there seem to be three diffrent types. Can you possibly point me in the right direction for the correct cage? Thanks.

Merce ..measure your din size of radio..width and height..also take notice of the locking mechanism on your radio..draw a quick sketch of it so you can take to a car audio place .they should be able to tell what one fits,

Car stereo wont work

Check all the connections with an analogue multimeter set to 12 volt dc.You should get fsd at all points. There is no doubt that you have an intermittent fault on the wiring. However, there is a slim possibility that this fault may, in turn, have caused damage to the clarion. If you cannot find a fault on the wiring, then consult a repair manual (available to download) to see whether or not there is a fuse inside the clarion. If there is one fitted, check that to see if it is blown. If thate above does not sokve the problem you are welcome to email me for further help on But I think fokkowing the above advice shoukd solve you lack of sounds in your car. All the best

How to Remove RAB 250 D

You need the removal keys to remove it from the cradle. They look like flat Allen keys. Remove face plate and put these keys down either side of the cradle.

You can find these at any stereo store.

If you go to your local stereo shop (or even Wal-Mart..) you can get the harness that plugs directly into your cars wiring for about $5-10. It will have the EXACT same wire colors as the harness that came with the Clarion. Just match them up, plug it in and you're good to go!
