Go into your menu (the botton on the lower right corner), scroll right to set-up. Go down to volume, select that and go to the bottom of the volume list to playback volume and adjust it through there...

hopefully that will help you out a bit

I DONT HAQVE ANY SOUND WHEN I PLAY BACK THE MOVIES , ON MY CANON POWERSHOT SD1200IS

Check to make sure "Mute" is off. Go to Menu and then the tab with the tools on it (it should be yellow-orange). The first option is "Mute." Make sure you set it to off when you playback movies.

My Canon PowerShot not recording audio

Try to reset the camera to default settings.... go to the menu and look for the reset default on the menu...that should override any accidental settings or mutings and get you back if the microphone is still functioning..

Copying Video ---- TO ---- my Canon A540

Yes, if you use a card reader, and do not change the file name, AND place the videos back in the same folder it should work.

Screen has gone white

Either your LCD is damaged or the cable connecting it to the rest of the camera is loose. I would suggest taking it to be repaired.

The recorded movies are fuzzy

Hey Jennyw,
I would make sure that you are shooting the video on the highest recording pixels available, which on this camera is 640x480. You could also increase the frame rate to 60 frames/second. Directions on how to do this are on page 41 of your user manual. I have included a link to download your manual in case you no longer have it. I hope this helps!

Canon Powershot A540 - Change Batteries when Batteries Fully Charged

Some of The Canon Powershot A530 and A540 cameras are subject to an advisory recall. Seems that a small spring on the battery compartment door can short out the batteries. Suspect this of yours, in that you mention that your batteries aren't lasting long. If your camera is on the list, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following link for more info:

Green Light Turns on, Sound of turning on, lens comes out, but then goes back in a turns off. . .It's not the batteries. PLEASE HELP ME!

Note that some batteries just don't hack it in digital cameras, even if new. This is especially true for those "super heavy duty" batteries:

OK, so it's definitely not the batteries. A few of The Canon Powershot A530 and A540 cameras are subject to an advisory recall. Canon powershot a540- using video mode and I do not want sound recording

There is no way to disable the audio on the camera unless you cover the microphone which I wouldn't really suggest. You would have to remove the sound later once you upload the video to your computer and put it into Windows Movie Maker or some other editing software.

Audio problem

I have an A540, so I do not know much about the A560, but try putting the SD card in a card reader connected to your computer rather than using the USB output on the camera. You could also check if the computer's sound is functioning properly by attempting to play back a CD on it.
