SAP is displaying on my TV. Does that mean it is on? If so, how do I turn it off? I think it is under Menu, but I can't get it to go away. Thanks

What does SAP stand for on the VCR and how do I remove it?

SAP stands for [Second Audio Programme]. In some tapes, audio will be recorded more than one language, where the listener can select his option. It can be removed from entering into its menu, according to its manual. There will be options for that. Refer to its operatin manual, go to the sound adjustment section, and find the option; set it to OFF. OK.

Want to stop VCR from using Spanish language on programs it records

Use SAP (or SAP/HI-FI) button on remote to cycle through the choices until you get to English or OFF.  Or use Setup Menu to select English language.

Can't use VCR

There's nothing wrong with your VCR. Your remote probably set to control your TV. To fix that, simply press the VCR button on the remote, and you should be fine. The "T-U" really means "TV," but the designers at Panasonic wanted to use the standard seven-segment display to cut costs, hence "T-U" instead of "TV."

Guide plus

Are you sure this isn't coming from the tv (is it an RCA or GE?) and NOT the vcr? Either way you would access it in the Menu under Setup or Initial Setup.

SP means Standard Play. Generally that is the Normal speed at which a VCR Records or Plays back a tape. SP is automatic, as it is the Standard setting. If you wish to record more picture than the normal 120 mins on a tape, then you choose LP (Lond Play) oe EP (Extended Play).

I am having trouble channel setting and recording.

If you have a bad or fuzzy picture when viewing tapes on VCR then you need a new video drum. I think you can buy another that is for your brand on the internet. More VCR Repair -

Vcr spanish language

You may have your SAP settings turned on in your VCR. Check your setup menu and turn SAP off SAP stands for Secondary Audio Program, it allows for bilingual sound if the station is transmitting a SAP signal. Thank you,
