Question about LG WM-2277HW Front Load Washer
Washer just started with these two problems front is leaking from door and musty smell left on clothes after wash cycle.
Guru - with all due respect - it's very uncommon for a boot to be torn. If there was a tear in the rubber you'd be able to see the hole. If you call for service the technician may come and simply twist the door to make the bottom make better contact against the gasket because liquid detergent changes the surface tension of water to cause easier leaking. Try using less detergent or switching to HE in powder form to see if you can stop the leaking. OR- intermittent leaking can be caused by a suds-lock forcing a little water out the stand-pipe. It is a good idea to start the washer with no clothing (in the washer) to see if suds form.
Musty smells are almost invariably caused by overuse of detergent or using fabric softener - at all. Go to www.smellywasher.com to read the blog page on what causes washing machine smell and towel mildew odor.

You need to replace the front boot what a pain you may need a tech to do this also you need to keep door open and wipe the boot with a towel after each use this is a common problem with front loaders.I do warranty work and run across this problem alot
before you replace boot turn on washer with nothing in it and let it cycle if you see suds in water you are using to much soap and this will cause the machine to over fill check this first
