I assume that fuel filter was changed when pump was? Have you stopped into any autozone or Pep Boys and get them to scan for codes, just in case?I assume that fuel filter was changed when pump was? Have you stopped into any autozone or Pep Boys and get them to scan for codes, just in case?

Re: my fuel pump failed when the car ran ou6t of fuel
You probably have alot of air in your line. i would fill it with a high test gas and park it for 4 or 5 hours at idle. this will purge the air out of the line.

Well if he could get the hood open all he would have to do is cut a wire pull or a sensor..... If not I'd look underneath for cut wire to fuel pump. Can you hear the fuel pump. AIR FUEL SPARK. Narrow it down
did you check for voltage at the coil pack low tension input
this comes from the electronic ignition and the distributer dc setting on a multimeter
check inside the distributer that the little magnet is still in place on the rotor and that the sensor is outputing pulses as it turns over
{you can use a meter set to AC range for this ...}
pull a plug out and place its metal to ground check for actual sparks
if this is there then its fuel ...
A common problem is a bad crank sensor on a 9-5 2.0t and 2.3t! if is bad, it doesn t send signal to the ECM, then the ECM do not send power to the pump relay! it is always better check fault code first
i am the owner of a 2004 saab 9-3 that had the same problem. the car could barely make it up a slight incline.
after diagnostics, they determined that it was a faulty "pedal travel sensor" (engine code P1238), which cost $590. after labor and taxes, my total came to $747.53. yikes.
sucked to pay that much, but it fixed the problem.
