Question about Compaq Evo N610C Notebook
Hi need help when I put my finger on the bottom left hand side of the mouse. my screen goes off. When I take my finger off the left hand of the mouse, the screen comes back on. I do not lose my place on the web page or lose my work.thanks Rocky
This issue is caused by an over sensitive LCD cover switch. The way this switch works is as follows. There are small slots in the top cover that the LCD latches into when closed. The slot on the left side has a brass clip, which acts as a lever to active the cover closed switch on the system board. The LCD latch pushes down on this lever to turn off the LCD. On your unit this clip has been bent to the point where any pressure near that slot actives the cover closed switch. The fix is to remove the top cover of the laptop and carefully bend this clip. Then reassemble the laptop to test it. It may not work on the first attempt. Its tricky.
