I cannot get rid of the Register Now popup from Dell.

They sent me a link to transfer ownership and I registered with my Service Tag but it has come back 2 days later. It is the Welcome popup that offers to Register, Remind Me Later or Decline options. None of the options allows anything. Please help me with this.

Look in your control panel through the use of the start button and locate the appropriate file for dell and remove it. Also make sure that you have successfully registered your version of windows. This can also be fixed by visiting the Dell website and downloading updates. Good Luck

How to unlock dell inspiron 640 m

To clear the bios password you will need to contact Dell support for the master pass code. You will first be required to be the registered owner of the machine. If you're not, then follow the first link bellow and register ownership. If you don't know the previous owner, just type in ebay. Then follow the second link for the contact info for the master code.

I need help

No problem. If this is a windows passwod, you will need to boot into safe mode by hitting the F8 key at start up. Once you're in safe mode, log in under the administrator, from there you can go into user accounts and clear the password.

Now if this is a bios password, you will need to contact Dell support directly. You will need the service tag and express code from the bottom of the machine. They will give you a master code for the machine to get you past the password. They also require that you are the registered owner of the machine in their files. This is easy to do, there is a tag in the left hand corner of Dell's support page that reads register ownership. The link bellow will take you to the contact info you need to call Dell support.
