My father's old Jenn-Aire microwave, Model # M170, has a rusted bottom and we need to replace it. Is there a model that is of the same dimensions so that we can replace the unit inside the cabinet above the 27" Expressions Convection Wall Oven?

You can contact Jenn-Air customer service and they should be able to tell you if there is a "drop-in" replacement for your model.

What are the dimensions of the Jenn-Air M170 built-in Microwave Oven (built 1998) that I need to specify for a replacement unit? Externally, I see the frame measuring 26 3/4" W by 17" H, and the unit within the frame measuring 22" W by 13" H.

Ed Michaels : Hi, your machine is long out of production and installation instructions usually come with the machine and are not published. you have a standard size 24" built in machine, and most 24" machines will fit the space. I would click on Jenn Air or call 1-800-JENN-AIR (536-6247) and ask for a replacement recommendation and a copy of old installation instructions for planning with designer or installer. They have access to records if anyone does and an interest in serving you. Alternatively, talk to another seller and discuss installation. they will also want to help. Let me know if I can help further.ed

The latch that opens the door to my Jenn-Air model M170 microwave oven is broken. I need to repair or replace it.

If the point of damage can be glued together with good bonding and further re-enforcement , it can be strong to withstand pressure.
So remove the assembly to try this out before you think there is no way out but to replace with the handle assembly from the service center.
The other option is to get one from a scrapped set.

My Jenn-aire microwave says locked and has a picture of a padlock. I was microwaving bacon and had just put it some to cook ( my second batch per se) and everything was locked up. I tried pushing options...

Most likely you set a child lock (front panel lock) by holding a button too long (3 seconds). Without a model number, I can't be absolutely sure of the keypad lock for your Jenn-Aire microwave. Usually, the key will have a small padlock icon on it. Press and hold this key. On my microwave you press and hold Start to toggle the lock off.

On a Jenn-Aire JMW2430 and similar models, the Button Lock is activated by a several step process (More and Button Lock). However, pressing and holding the Start button will deactivate it.

I hope this helps.

I have a Jenn-Air M170 & parts of the inner door have cracked and broken, exposing the interior metal. Can the door be repaired or do I need to replace the unit? Does Jenn-Air still make this model?

Yes you will have to replace it, and yes, i am fairly sure they still have that part in stock. please use the direct link below to ask and obtain the part you need.
Also please ask them for the service manual too, this will make the task ever so much easier.. However the replacement parts used to come with fitting instructions..
