I am new to texting. When I have entered my message and press 'send' I am asked for a 'centre number' -where do I find this please?

The centre number means the SMS service centre number. This is the number that your message is initially sent to before being forwarded on by your network provider.
It depends on the network as to which number you enter, but here is a fairly up to date list of UK SMS centre numbers:
O2 - +447802000332 (contract) +447802092035 (pay as you go) T-Mobile - +447958879879 Orange - +447973100973 Vodafone - +447785016005 Tesco Mobile - +447802092035 Virgin - +447958879890 3 / Three - +447782000800 ASDA Mobile - +447785014315 GiffGaff - +447802002606

If this doesn't work, try calling your network provider and they'll give you their current SMS centre number.

All the best,

I cant receive any text but i can send how d o i resolve this problem

This is a common issue when you switch SIMs/Service Providers.

Ring your Cell/Mobile Service provider and ask them for the SMS MESSAGE CENTRE NUMBER and how to enter it in your specific cellphone (they may actually ask you to consult your cellphone manual to enter this sms msg centre number usually found in the SMS advanced settings of your phone).

Hope it helps!

My phone is, all of a sudden unable to send a text. Every time i push the send option it says sms centre This is when i try to reply to a text or create and send a text. Why is it doing this ? how can i...

Usually this happens when the SMS settings of your phone were altered. First option on that is to call your service provider and ask for the SMS settings, including the message center number. Second option is to provide us the model number and your service provider for us to look that one up for you.

Error message when texting on Ericsson K750i mobile

tmuncey hello,

Sometimes because of a phone bug or a SIM error, the "Service Centre" for SMS messages is changed.
Please call your cellular Service Provider, and ask for their SMS Service Centre settings.
Then, go to Messages > Settings > Text Message > Service Centre.
Make sure the number you were given by the Service Provider matches the one written there.
If not, please changed to the one given to you by the Service Provider.
