Indicates paper jammed but it is not jammed - HP PSC 1610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

  • cen42 Aug 20, 2009

no the paper tray is not low in paper ,it feeds the paper half way in then indicates it is jammed press ok then it releases the paper with no print.thanks

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Is the paper carrier filled or is the paper supply low? I have known this to be an issue with many HP printers as well as Lexmark. If the paper tray is low, it will cause it to jam, even when there is no jam it will throw a jam error.

Hi,

Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry. Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print. Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job. Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Paper jams at toner cartridge, printer service maintenance kit installed

Paper Jam clearing: copy and paste the link in your web browser...I used to work with these printer's..when they work great, when they don't, not so great..

Clearing Paper Jams If the printer's control panel displays a paper jam message, look for paper in the locations indicated in Figure 22, then see the procedure for clearing the paper jam. You might need to look for paper in other locations than indicated in the paper jam message. If the location of the paper jam is not obvious, look first in the top cover area. When clearing paper jams, be very careful not to tear the paper. If a small piece of paper is left in the printer, it could cause additional jams. If paper jams are a recurring problem, see page 78.(A paper jam message might also display if the rear door is open.)

The top cover of the printer must be opened and then closed to clear a paper jam message.Paper jams can occur at the following locations:Output areas(top and rear)Go to page 75.

Loose toner might remain in the printer after a paper jam, but thetoner should clear after a few sheets are printed.

I have a Brother Printer HL-240D that gives me a constant paper jam inside indication even though the paper goes completely through the printer, and there is no actual paper jam. What switch causes the...

Have you tried shutting it down completely? Also, double check to see if the inside of the printer is completely clean. I had the paper jam indicator showing because there a small piece of paper stuck inside. Also, found a helpful manual for a similar printer, you can see it here - Brother HL-2240 manual

Paper feeds about half way and then stops. All of the indicator lights come on.

If you get a paper jam, the Paper Jam indicator light promptsyou to clear the paper path. If the paper has just started to feed from thepaper feeder when the jam occurs, pull the paper straight up out of the paper feeder. Open and close the printer cover toresume printing. If the paper jam occurs inside the printer, remove the paper from the output bin. Turn the printeroff, then on. If this doesn't clear the jam, open the printer cover.Remove the print cartridge and cover it.For additional assistance, please contactLexmark Technical Support

Canon mx310 indicates paper jam but no paper

The printer has several switches in it to detect paper jams. When paper feeds in it trips the first one indicating that paper is present. Another switch further along the feed path indicates that the paper is feeding okay.
Your problem can be a jammed switch (loose scrap of paper), a broken switch, a switch disconnected from the controller board or a possible bad controller board.
One thing you didn't mention was does it respond the same with paper loaded? It might be that the first switch is looking for some and not finding it, so it is programmed to assume a jam.

I have a paper jam on a CLC 1120 and there is no paper jam I've check the machine 10 times

You didn't state where the jam is indicated. If it's indicating a paper pickup jam there are levers toward the back of the cassette that could get hung up.If it's a fuser jam the outlet lever on the fuser unit.If it's indicated in the transfer drum area a bad transfer sheet can give a false jam indication sensing paper on the drum.

Kyocera 3900dn says paper jam in rear but no jam evident

Usually a printer doesn't lie when it indicates a paper jam, if you have checked as thoroughly as possible and no paper can be found. It is possible that the paper just isn't feeding and a printer will sometimes indicate a paper jam when paper doesn't feed. But if this isn't the case and a jam is indicated as soon as you turn the printer on, one of the plastic jam sensing actuators may be broken or hung up.
