Hi,
You can't clean the filter. You can however order a new filter with the filter attached from www.ryobi.com.
When you say it's not getting enough gas is the weedeater shutting off on you? If so your carb may need to be clean. If that's the case then report back and I can tell you how to do that.
Good luck!
Mike

Ok so how do you clean the carb. Cause I have the exact same problem

  • Mike McDowell Oct 14, 2013

I just saw this. All you have to do is follow the fuel lines to the carb. Unscrew the carb from the assembly (make sure you count how many turns to take off as you need to turn it back to the same place when assembling). Once off just get some carb cleaner (autozone, advance) and spray on the carb and make sure all holes are open after you are done.

I have a featherlite 25cc 150 mph blower that has goos spark and the carb has been cleaned yet it wont start and is flooding fuel out the exhaust?

I seems you have answered your own question: combustion chamber flooding...so the during exhaust stroke fuel remains in the chamber, or is being sucked in from the tank. Fuel pump diaphragm is the most likely suspect part; and is a routine wear out and replacement part. After replacing, be sure to maintain according to mfr recommendation for storage (generally it's to flush tank with un-oiled fuel before storing) to avoid early wear out of fuel pumps diaphragm.

I need instructions on replacing the line on our Remington Lawn Trimmer

Hi pwdw71...
You will need to go to the lawnmower/weedeater parts house with a sample of both lines to be able to replace the lines with the right size fuel lines.
Also check/clean/replace the fuel filter inside of the tank.
Also take your Mfg. and model number with you.
When you remove your fuel lines from the carburetor be sure to make a drawing to how the lines are connected to the carburetor.
Normally the big line will be the line the fuel filter is connected to inside of the tank.
The smaller of the two lines is the return to the fuel tank from the carburetor after it is pumped thru and primed the carburetor by the primer bulb.
You will insert the big line into the fuel tank far enough to be able to install the fuel filter.

25cc featherlite weedeater not getting fuel into bulb when you pump it, nor does it seem to be getting any fuel at all. pour a little gas in carb and it will start and run til gas is gone. What's up with...

Check the condition of the fuel filter/fuel line inside the fuel tank. It could be clogged. The line that feeds the carburetor is connected to a fuel filter inside the fuel tank. Also, the carburetor could be clogged with debris, especially if the fuel line has come off of the filter inside the tank. They get brittle and break, sometimes causing your problem. There is a fine mesh screen inside the fuel pump side of the carburetor (the side without the vent hole) that sometimes needs to be cleaned off to allow proper fuel flow thru it. Remove the carb and remove the fuel pump cover and check the condition of the filter screen after checking condition of fuel lines and fuel tank filter.
The bulb will sometimes not "pull" and "push" the fuel right if the check valves inside the carburetor are malfunctioning, stuck or dirty. Start at the fuel tank and work your way to the carburetor. The fuel lines should be soft and pliable. Replace them if not. You should be able to blow air easily thru the fuel line that goes from the carburetor directly to the fuel tank. Check for all the above and post back if needed.

I just put new fuel line on my trimmer now i cant start it not getting fuel the line never fills with fuel but i can **** fuel out so i know it not pinched it a weedeater brand ght-17

Make sure the little valve under the tank if you have one is fully turned clockwise. Make sure there is nothing clogging the tiny screen inside the fuel tank. Check or test your primer bulb it may be leaky. If carb or intake is leaking, you won't get gas either. If you have a filter on this model, try changing it.

I have a weedeater xt 200 trimmer. The parts in

The tube in the tank is the fuel pickup line and goes directly to the carburetor. You will need to get NEW fuel lines. Fish or shake the old parts out of the fuel tank after draining. Inside the tank will be a small length of smaller diameter fuel line that connects to the small fuel filter and there will be a small nylon line connector that is plugged into the end of the larger diameter fuel line which is the fuel return line from the primer bulb back to the fuel tank. That line ends just inside the fuel tank and is held there by the small nylon line connector. The other line (smaller diameter) needs some length inside the tank so it can flop around as you move the machine enabling it to always pick up fuel. 6" or so is about right from the hole in the bottom (or top) of the tank to the fuel filter. Buy long enough lengths of fuel line that they can be inserted into the tank and pulled thru the fill cap area and then have the parts put back on them and then cut to the correct length from the fuel tank to the carburetor and/or primer bulb. Buy about 1 foot of each size line needed. Small engine repair shops have it and sell it..not expensive.

Replaced Poulan 25cc weedeater fuel lines/Now no start

You have/had a fuel filter in the tank. The connector goes to that filter, I think. The length does mean something but I don't know any way to figure it without a manual. You could try to figure from the total length. The fuel filter hold the line toward the bottom. Good luck.

Craftsman 28cc gas weedeater gas line connections

The longest, and sometimes smaller in diameter of the two fuel lines, goes from the carburetor to the bottom of the tank. Leave enough slack in this line so that the filter that attaches to the end will rest comfortably at the bottom of the tank.

The other fuel line goes from the primer bulb to just inside the tank, (about an inch). make sure that you get the right size fuel lines. The plastic coupling goes on the end of this line, inside the tank. This keeps the line from pulling out of the tank.

(HINT): When feeding the lines through the tank holes, cut the lines at an angle. They will feed much easier into the holes. You can than cut them off square, once you know that you have enough to work with.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Craftsman weedeater model # 358.796090

I would first clean the air filter, check fuel lines for cracks and check the fuel filter inside the tank, if those look good try adjusting then if necessary rebuilding the carburetor.
Also you might move your post to another section; it is under timers not trimmers. ;)
