Cant get rid of blinking error message, nothing works

I have the copier on, but the display message says: system error [H4-00] refer to user guide. I have tried everything, even ended up covered in ink toner from head to toe. The "!" blinking light will not disappear. I have done everything it tells me to do in the Operator's manual for basic function. Nothing is working and i'm at the office and i need my copier working ASAP! Please Please help Have a Sharp AL1655CS multifunction copier displaying "System Error H4-00" Refer to owners manual.Can this error message be cleared ?

H4-00 is a fuser related service code. you need to get into the simulation programs and run sim 14 to reset the code. Make sure there is no paper jammed in the fuser. (The hot part on the right side inside the door)

  1. Find the pink Clear button on the Control Panel.
  2. Find the button below the word Auto. Under image quality
  3. Press these buttons in the following sequence: [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto] NOTE: All of the lights on the Control Panel should go out and the LED Display should go blank. If the lights do not go out, then repeat step 3 until they do. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the pace of the [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto] sequence.It may be clear Copy quality, or image quality
  4. Press the [10's] key one time and the [1's] key four times to enter '14' in the LED Display, as if you were to make 14 copies.
  5. Press the green [Start] button.
  6. Press the pink [Clear] button two times.
  7. The WorkCentre should now warm up and come to ready.
  8. If the above steps do not clear the error code, repeat steps 3 to 6 a second time.

I changed the ink in my Lexmark 3400 printer and I keep getting an error message "cover open" and it's not open. I tried everything....unloading the software then reloading the software, shutting it off...


The printer displays a 'Cover open, please close cover' error message, even though the cover is closed.

This can happen if the lever on the cover open sensor is knocked off the switch assembly.

Printer won't print


Try this Issue When trying to copy, print, or receive a fax, the following error message appears on the product control panel display. Ink System Failure. Ink system has failed. Unable to copy, receive faxes, or print. Refer to printer documentation. Error: 0xc19aYYYY NOTE: The Y in the error message represents any digit, 0 - 9, or any character, A - F. Solution To resolve the issue, use the following steps. Step one: Remove the cartridges Make sure that the product is turned on and then disconnect the USB cable from the back of the product. Open the product cover and remove the cartridges. Close the cover and wait for a message to insert the cartridges to appear on the control panel display. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and wait for one minute. Step two: Reinstall the cartridges Reconnect the power cord to the wall, reconnect the other end of the power cord to the product, and then turn on the product if it is not already on. Open the product cover and reinstall the cartridges. Close the cover and print a calibration page, if prompted. Print a self test report to make sure that the product can print. Reconnect the USB cable between the product and the computer. Try to print a document from an application on the computer.

Cartridge Error, Error 50C

Dell gets this lots so have a try.

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.

    1. Attempt to duplicate the message by turning the printer on, reloading the media, and printing several test prints.
    2. Note the movement and position of the carriage when the error occurs.
    3. If the carriage stops on the left-hand side (roughly 12 inches from the ink supply station), unplug the power cable from the printer, open the top cover and try to move the carriage to the right. Closely inspect the ink tubes for wear, and check for ink tube binding or catching on the tube guide (stopping/hindering carriage movement). If true, continue with the remaining steps below.

        NOTE: If the steps above do not describe the issue correctly, refer to the work instruction for a typical “Switch Power Off, Check Printhead Path” message (bpp90070).

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. Remove the old Ink Tube System (refer to pages 8-53 of the Service Manual).


        NOTE: If the printer is installed on a Multi-roll feeder accessory, some additional disassembly is required to gain access to the printer. Instructions for multi-roll disassembly are listed at the bottom of this document for reference.
    3. Move the carriage assembly to the right side of the printer.
    4. Clean the rear tube guide assembly with a moistened lint free cloth to prepare the mounting of the Mylar tape.

    5. Remove the backing on the Mylar tape and align the line on the tape with the front edge of the rear-tube guide so that the narrower section is towards the front of the printer. Do not attach the tape yet.

        NOTE: Ensure that the Mylar film is perfectly aligned with the rear Tube Guide surface with no protrusions or unevenness.
    6. Carefully position the Mylar tape about 1/4 of an inch from the left-end of the rear-tube guide (do not go all the way to the end as the beveled edge will cause crimping of the tape).

    7. Ensure tape is evenly positioned and any air bubbles are smoothed out along the tape.

    8. Carefully fold under the narrow section of the tape to the underside of the rear tube guide assembly and smooth out any air bubbles.

    10. Once the Mylar tape is installed, install the new Ink Tube System (refer to pages 8-53 of the Service Manual).
    11. Following replacement, verify printer functionality.

Having unable to clean error message


your dcp needs a new waist ink tank (absorber).

Search brother homepage of your country for a service dealer near your home and buy an ink absorber. post here again when done. will give you the instruction then.

The [H4-00] system error popped up when the power went out of the house. I called Sharp tech support (1-630-378-3590) and was talking to their tech support in less than a minute.

The FIX? Just press the following keystrokes:
# * C * This will clear the display error, now press…14, then press the green button twice. This should let your printer start to warm up and you have fixed your problem.

What application were you trying to print from at the time. Does the printer give this error message all the time or only from this program? I need this info to assist you bzoe...lilacgerry

The correct buttons to push in order to get into the service mode on a 162D are [#] key, [*] key, [C] key and [*] key. Then you key in 14 - 00 and press the Start key. If that fails to bring your machine back on, you'll have to replace the fusing assembly.
