Question about Protron PLTV-32 Television
...looks like candle smoke, in a fixed vertical pattern. Not on the surface, as cleaner did not help. Is this common? cause? fixable? approx. cost? Unit is almost 3yrs old on Christmas (gift) and probably out of warrantee. Never abused, nothing spilled, just appeared!
Help is appreciated.
It is called burn in and you cannot fix it. Your best bet is to toss the PROTRON in the garbage and buy one that doesn't suffer this fate. I would suggest VIZIO, they guarantee no permanent burn in and no dead pixels. Check them out. There web site is Vizio.com. You can also read reviews from customers that have purchased these televisions. CNet also has information. Protron is a piece of junk. Also saw that they are merging with Digital Lifestyles, so would suggest staying away from that company also.
