Re: Windows Vista

Check for firmware updates for the gateway/router you have.. There may be an issue, but I dont see how.. if it still isnt work, try to obtain a computer with XP and try it on there to see if you have the same problems..

I just bought and set up a LaCie Wireless Space 1TB as a NAS + router but can't get several computers to connect wirelessly to it. I did get one HP laptop running windows XP to connect just fine. But I...

Is this your first router or you are replacing an existing one with this? If you had a router setup before don't name the wireless network the exact same as your old one unless you go into your wireless properties on all your wireless machines and delete saved profiles.
What kind of security are you using on the wifi? wep, wpa wpa2? If you are using wpa2 and have not updated all your computers to the latest service packs for windows you can have some issues as well. Some routers don't work well with ps3's, try setting the router security to wep and make a ten digit password.
Also the Dell XPS M1530's are known for bad performing wireless cards. You may be able to obtain an updated bios firmware from Dell's website to help fix this though i'm sure it's not the cause of why you can't connect to this router.
See if this helps, if not respond and I will give some more tips.

I have a Dell 2300 Wireless Router and two Dell XPS computers and

You need to network the 2 computers, and make sure you have file and printer sharing enabled on both computers. Also make sure each computer has a different name so they properly show up on the network. If you're running XP, you go to My Network Places/Workgroup/ and the name of the computer whose printer you want to access(If you're running Vista or Windows 7 it should be a similar route). Also make sure the power to both computers and the printer are on.

Windows vista laptop lost connection to the internet

Start off simple. Try a different port on the router. If that doesn't work, try a new cable. If that doesn't work, go to the Device Manager in Windows. (Right-click My Computer, select Manage, go to Device Manager). Does the card look okay? Has it been disabled or need a driver update? If we're still looking at issues then I would take a look at your router security. How many DHCP licences do you allowed to be assigned? Also do you have security in place (WEP/WPA, Mac Filtering, SSID Broadcast)? If you are light on security and only have a few assignable DHCP licences, you may have neighbors leeching your internet access.

To clarify: DHCP assigns a network IP address to each device on its network. Most Linkys routers have a default of 10, you may have reduced this yourself. If you have, you've limited the # of devices allowed on the network. So if you have 3 DHCP licenses available, and a couple neighbors are leeching, your Dell may not get assigned an ip.

If you still need further help, let me know.

2) Check if your network card drivers has been installed after your OS installation.

Go to My PC >> right click "Properties" >> Hardware >> Device Manager >> Network

Be sure that not appears this yellow symbol ( ! )

If yes, go to dell support website and get the drivers for your network card.

Web pages won't display

You have to call netgear again then ask them where you can find the MTU settings of the router. The default value is 1500. You can change it to 1450 first then 1400 if the first value won't work.

Trying to set up a network printer with DELL TRUEMIBILE 2350...please help

using windows xp on all the computers, when you connect to the printer windows should automatically install drivers.

1. Goto My Computer, Click My Network Places (Explorer Bar).
2. Click View Workgroup Computers (Explorer Bar)
3. Find the computer that has the printer physically connected to it, open it
4. Find the printer and right click it!
5 Select Connect... and wait for the drivers to install.

this should install the print drivers and install the printer on your computer. the printer should now be available in print dialogs i.e. word etc etc and from the Control Panel > Printers window.
