Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P200 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Wet camera, everything works but the screen went blurred

I have Sony DSC-T5. It went wet when I was doing some ride in the water park. However, everything works out fine other than the screen. I can still see the image on the screen but is without color and it is blurred. Is there anyway I can fix it myself? It is very expensive to send it back to Sony for repair. Thank you.

It will likely be best to sell it and get another as the price has fallen below the fix price.
The glue that holds the screen to circuit is damaged and not fixable by the average person..
you may be able to find a screen on ebay though that could be a waste of time and money.

MY SONY CAMERA GOT WET ITS NOT CAPTURING PICTURES OR NOT RECORDING VIDEOS. EVERY THING IS WORKING BUT THE SCREEN IS NOT DISPLAYING WHAT DO I DO??????

sir,
if your camera or any electronics appliances happened to enter water or moisture, you must remove the power source(battery)at the immediate, hence the water is a conductor of electric power it will spoil the entire circuits of it. in this case there is very rare possibility to cure. any how please open your camera and take out the LCD display, there may be corrosion on the clipping connectors, try to clean all the connectors, wash the total circuit board with cleaning liquid, re connect all then power on.

Try leaving it in a bag of rice far a week, but don't trying turning it on until then, that's the worst thing you can do.

Camera got wet in the ocean and now the screen on the back of the camera does not work/display anything - just stays black.

If you tried to turn it on without properly drying it for a week, you probably fried the circuits. Even if you didn't, the salt water would eventually corrode everything inside the camera anyway.

Turning on a wet camera almost always fries the circuits.

The LCD touch screen is not lit. Sometimes camera does not turn on. It got wet in a heavy thunderstorm.

It's probably fried by the water. Your only hope is to set it aside for a couple weeks, and let it thoroughly dry out, then try it again. But probably you already tried to turn this one on while it was still wet, and that fried the circuitry. If so, you're outta luck. Sorry! Next time something electronic gets wet, do that but don't EVER try to turn it on while it's still wet.Gotta give it LOTS of time to dry out inside in order to have any hope of a recovery.

Can't take pictures

Try buying a new one, the cost of repair of this exceeds the value of the camera. The photo transistor is damaged as is that part of the board
