hello,I have just purchased a gygabite ati radeon 2600 xt,which absolutely doesn't want to enable dual view,we have tried to change all kinds of drivers. tv only or just the monitor can be used.My friend came along to check with it,and says that is a windows issue most probably. If anyone has a similar problem please reply! best regards

Had the same problem, HDTV connected via-DVI and CRT monitor via-DVI, the BIOS won't load after starting the PC and the only things that comes out is some model number or something in the screen. Latest driver update didn't solve this problem either.

  • mole_alto Mar 10, 2008

Tried downloading all drivers. I get regular Blue Screens of Death and have upgraded my Power Supply. The best fix seems to be the ATI xp32_8.451.4_57941.exe but even that isn't perfect.

  • JBeat2k8 Mar 27, 2008

I have the Sapphire HD2600 XT, and have installed every single driver type for my 3.8ghz, Windows XP Home, SP2, 1GB Ram system.

NOTHING seems to work with Crysis, and Bioshock keeps crashing.

I have also had nothing but low-framerates from most of my games, but strangely, I run Clive Barker's Jericho with everything on high except AntiAliasing, and it runs as smooth as silk.. o.O

Guys, we need to get on to ATI/Sapphire and get them to release some WORKING DRIVERS for this damn card, as not all of us have PCI express slots, and not all of us can afford to upgrade our systems further, after buying a graphics card for just under £100, that doesn't want to work a lot of the time.

Also, I once in a while (more often than not) receive the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH, stating problems with win32.dll, or something like that..

Something has to be done.. Us AGP users are being ignored, and after paying so much for a card, I think we deserve some assistance + a working driver.

I'm tempted to just send it back, get a refund and just start using another company for GRFX cards, such as Nvidia, or.. well.. Anyone but ATI. I'm sick of it! Anyone got a link to the right driver (that works) for Windows XP Home, SP2, for the AGP version of the Sapphire HD 2600 XT, and I don't mean the Sapphiretech.com site that offers you 15 - 20 different choices of drivers, of which none are correct. I keep seeing "Setup cannot find a driver compatible with any of your hardware" >.< Heeeeelp!

Jay - drop me a message on jbeat2k8msn {AT] live dot com if you get the solution! I will pay well, anyone that gets it working without any problems!

Having a similar problem with my Sapphire HD 2600 XT. Downloaded the April 23 hot fix from sapphiretech.com but when I try to install it says it can't find a driver compatible with my hardware or operating system. Any ideas?

I'm also with Sapphire HD2600 and it isn't working as well as i expected. In fact sometimes I wonder if it works at all. Along with the problems you all described I witnessed one more thing. Occasionally the graphics accelerator cease to respond and the system is then forced to restart it. This doesn't consume a lot of time but it is definitely wrong and most certainly irritating. I have experienced the death screen only once and i hope wont have to see it again.
...And on the matter of resolving the problem, I guess the only way is by buying a new card (perhaps a G-force of the same class). Not that I want to spend additional money for a video card but what else can I do ? I can't stand it anymore.

Just purchased this card and beginning to wish I hadn't!!

I am trying to get correct drivers from Sapphiretech.

    Running XP 32bit.

Do I need to update CCC first from the drivers that came with my card BEFORE applying the hotfix for AGP or is the hotfix cumulative?

I would ask SapphireTech but cannot get through their nospam verification to join their bloody forum or to email admins!!

  • kevvyb2005 Aug 06, 2008

Does anyone here know where the info on modifying the install files came from. Posted by guest under solution 2. Need to see if I can apply to the drivers I have.

    Thanks

    Sapphiretech 2600XT 512MB

Shuttle running nforce2 SN41 Motherboard AMD Athlon 2800, Windows XP Pro.

reformatted HDD, reinstalled Windows XP. Cannot get 3D graphics working with any driver Sapphire Tech has to offer on their website. Tried the 8.10 AGP hotfix from AMD, doesnt work either.

Note: When I first installed this card many months ago, I had the same installation/operational problems (video games crash). Eventually, I loaded the version 8.8 AGP hotfix from the ATI/AMD website and it worked! Unfortunately, ATI does not offer any of its older hotfixes (only the latest version which doesnt work) and I cannot get this card to work anymore.

Sidenote: Ive installed hundreds of video cards over the years, and Ive seen nothing like this before. ATI AGP solutions do not work, a class-action suit is probably in order here.

To get your drivers follow these simply steps below:

First go to this website "CLICK HERE" - once you've done that fill in all the details of your "Graphics Card" then download them.

After you've completed the installation restart your computer just to make everything work correctly.

Note: after you've installed the driver your resolution when you've restarted your computer will be diffrenrent and may need changing.
Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful in someway. Further problems of any kind just leave a message on here and i will get back to you a.s.a.p.

I spent an entire day on this and finally found this solution! Uninstall everything to do with the graphics card then reboot. Now install the drivers off of the disc then download the PCI-E version of them from the ATi website. Then update the driver through Windows Device Manager with the INF file from the download. Works perfect for me! ultra_glior_xiii@live.co.uk

The problem is that ATI no longer supports AGP drivers even for their own cards.

I've had graphic issues in most games with my HD2600 PRO AGP and I couldn't get any drivers to install cept for the Omega driver .. but this still left me with bad graphics. I was very close to giving up on it but yesterday I thought I would give it one more go.

I checked Sapphiretech.com for a new driver and DL'd the 8.3 Hotfix for HD2600. Still it wouldn't find any compatible hardware.

Then I found a site that told me to do the following:

If your AGP card is not supported by the latest ATI drivers...
Sometimes the drivers don't get updated for every card for every driver release, so you need to edit a couple files to add your card. Run the installer, and continue until you extract the driver into a folder under C:\ATI\SUPPORT\. At the next opportunity, cancel the installation and navigate to the C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ folder in Windows Explorer. Edit the files as follows, and you can then run C:\ATI\SUPPORT\{Current Version}\Driver\setup.exe.

The files you need to edit are:

Windows XP/MCE
C:\ATI\SUPPORT\[Current Version]\Driver\Driver\XP_INF\CX_*****.inf

Under "[ATI.Mfg.NTx86]", add the following lines. You can do a search for "HD 2400" to put the lines with the other entries for the HD2000 series, if you wish.

"ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO AGP" = ati2mtag_RV610, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_94C4
"ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT AGP" = ati2mtag_RV610, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_94C6
"ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO AGP" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9587
"ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT AGP" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9586

The lines can be placed anywhere under the "[ATI.Mfg.NTx86]" section. For example, your entry could look as follows:

[ATI.Mfg.NTx86]
"ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO AGP" = ati2mtag_RV610, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_94C4
"ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT AGP" = ati2mtag_RV610, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_94C6
"ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO AGP" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9587
"ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT AGP" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9586

C:\ATI\SUPPORT\[Current Version]\Driver\Driver\CX_*****.INI
C:\ATI\SUPPORT\[Current Version]\Driver\Driver\INSTALL.INI

In both files, under the "[WINXP]" section, add the following at the end of the second line, which starts "R6=DriverPath_R6":

,0x94C4,0x94C6,0x9586,0x9587

For example, your entry could look as follows:

[WINXP]
Label=R6,R6_2,R6_3,R6_4,R6_5,R6_6,R6_7,R6_8,R6_9,R 6_10
R6=DriverPath_R6,0x554F:0x149218BC,0x7162:0x300114 7B,0x94C4,0x94C6,0x9586,0x9587
DriverPath_R6=\XP_INF,CX_52443.INF

-------

After I changed the files and ran the display driver installation it magically worked WOOHOO!! It's a low/mid end card but upgrading from a Geforce FX5200 it kicks ***!! Hope this helps

Just because you have a new video card with CD drivers does not mean the drivers are the latest. Go to Saffhire directly & download the latest driver software for you're card.
http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/support/drivers.php

Uninstall any older driver software before installing newer. Try not to restart the system between installs.
And update windows before you install the new drivers. You do not need to install WinXP SP3. Unless you want too.

Good luck!

ATI Radeon HD driver installation error: product identification error

Hello there.
I am an ATI Radeon customer myself (I own an ATI Radeon HD 2600XT) and there's a problem that I've faced for a long long time and have finally found the solution.
If you have this driver or any other ATI Radeon HD 2600/3600 series you might have noticed already that when trying to install the drivers (both out of the CD or the downloaded once) the driver-installation program does NOT identify that you have that exact model. Thus, causing you problems of not being able to play high quality PC Games and/or Video Codecs problems.
I was astonished, that's an error from ATI side, what should I do?
Well thank god ATI put an eye for that problem and they finally published a solution to it, a hotfix.
How to apply the hotfix and finally enjoy the potentials of this amazing Video Card?
Go here http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/CatalystAGPHotfix.aspx
Select your operation system. (For me, I have Windows XP Professional, so I would click Catalyst 10.4 Hotfix for Windows XP PRofessional and Home Edition.)
And by clicking there it prompts you to download the hotfix that includes the driver and ATI Catalyst.
Install it, and you're good to go.

Enjoy.

The Evga 7600GT is a AGP, you can't use this.
The ATI 2600 XT is only warranted for 1yr.
The EVGA 8600GT 256Mb is a Limited Lifetime. If only these three than the 8600GT Would be best.

Do you have the 6-pin PCI-E power connector attached to the new video card? If you do it's possible you power supply is insufficient and may need to be upgraded.
