Hold down the "Fn" Key and press the "F4" Key, wait a min, press the Enter key on the keyboard... Do this when it happens, the problem is the ribbon cable in the laptop that goes to the screen is loose, If you want to fix permanently, send in for repair to Acer if under warranty.
Why did you have to buy a new adaptor? Did it suddenly stop working or was the problem intermittent?
It's my guess the adaptors are fine - very unlikely all three are bad - It's the connector in the laptop that's the problem - it's loose or was pushed too far in at some point so it can't make a tight connection. A good tech should be able to solder it on the inside. Hopefully, you can return at least one of the adaptors.
If the brightness is dull even when connected to the mains, it maybe that your back lighting is faulty on the screen and you will need a qualified repairer, although it may be worth looking at a new notebook depending on the cost.
