Question about Symantec WinFax Pro for PC
I imported a message store in Winfax 10 from windows 98 to windows XP. When I open a old sent fax and try to resubmit it I get an error that the cover page text file is corrupt.
I tried getting all the old cover pages back in place but it still does not work.
Is there a solution to this?
This is opinion but more than just a few have had problem with that version of WinFax and "other' operating systems. Suggest you check the support site BUT....you more than likely, if you can produce a new cover page and it will transmit, just have a corrupted file / folder / location where they are stored. You might want to run scandisk is "thorough" mode (depending on drive size and memory this can take a few hours plus). That may correct some cross linked issues as well as point out a bad cluster or two on your drive. If more than 4-5 bad clusters and / or your drive makes a bit of grinding noise it may be time to replace the drive. If no bad clusters though you may just have a noisy drive so don't panic. With Recuva (free) you can also poke around your drive and do a search for the old cover pages. Lastly, you may not have put them back in the right place....create a new one and paste your old date if possible...just a thought not knowing exactly what you have or have done. Good luck. Tango.
