Question about Pioneer Elite VSX-9100TX Receiver

Open Question

DVD-R / Receiver Problem = no TV audio or visual

Hello - I am seeking advice on how to remedy a home TV situation.

We have a 50" Pioneer Elite plasma TV that is connected to a cable box, a Sony DVD-RW / VCR, and the Elite PRO-RO5U media receiver.

When trying to watch a movie last night, someone altered the settings / hit the wrong button, such that the TV audio and visual no longer work. Instead, the "REC TIMER" red light on the media received is continually flashing, as is the red standby light on the TV. We cannot get any audio or visual. We have tried shutting everything down, and when we power back on, the TV audio will pop on for a second, and then switches back over to the "REC TIMER" / standby function.

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.

Trying to connect a Plasma TV to this receiver which does not have HMDI

What you need to do is connect the HDMI from your source(SAT, Cable box or DVD) directly to your tv. Then, connect audio from that same source down to your pioneer receiver.
Good Luck

My Pioneer VSX-919AH-K A/V receiver does not receive the audio from my Samsung 50 in. plasma tv and transfer sound into my speakers. How can I fix this?

What model Samsung TV?

Couldn't you just route all TV-related audio directly to the receiver from whatever source creates it instead of through the TV (TV's NOT being the pinnacle of audio performance). I'm sure the Pioneer will do a better job with the direct digital audio feeds than whatever the TV decides to pass on.

How to connect BLU-RAY DVD player to Pioneer Plasma TV via HDMI

The best possible solution to your problem is :
Connect your blu ray player directly to the HDMI input of you Plasma and watch HD video....
and connect the 5.1/7.1 sound thru the optical or the coaxial link directly to your AVR 3805.
You will not loose anything on the Blu-Ray.
The sound is best processsed by the AVR3805, while the video, which is the real upgrade (BluRay) in terms of resolution of picture would be processed by your plasma.

Connect and Enjoy
