It is likely the battery that will need replacement. You can buy them almost anywhere on the internet.

It must be battery's defect that prevented it from retaining the charge. You may want to replace the battery. I just got one from www.wirelessunlimitedonline.com for $6.95 w/ free shipping.

hi sir... dont change ur batteries or go for new one... Its becuase the battery pin available in ur mobile device has got damaged... so its unable to store charges for a longer duration...Better give ur mobile for service and they will replace u with new pins.. dont waste in getting new batteries..

I dont know if this will help you, but it helped me. I had the same problem, with phone not holding charge and getting really hot both during and after complete charge.
I needed my memorycard from my LG to my other phone, so I took it out, and off course the phone needed to be charged so I charged it, and... it did not get hot at all, and when it was finished, the charge lasted a day and a half!! Now the problem is I cant use the memorycard anymore in my Viewty :S Win/Loose situation i guess....

I managed to speak with a rep from Sony he seems to think 24hours between charges is ok. Now my old telecom phone would last a week before needing a charge doing the same work it is just a shame telecom are not a very good company. So i guess any one going to buy a phone be aware the modle Sony v640i needs charged every 24 hours. ( no i dont agree that a phone needs charged that often and think the rep just wanted to get rid of me )

it wont harm your phone they just recomend 24 hours to make sure the bat is ok and that it gets fully charged but remember to let your bat go totally flat from time to time this will prolong the life of your battery as it does them no good just keep topping it up so i sugest to let it go totally flat say once a month this will keep your battery lasting longer between charge hope this helps
