Question about Denon DVD-5000 DVD Player
Actually my Denon DVD-5000 will not play CDs either, and it's way too large to be a DAC. Anyway, the fact that it goes into standby on its own is a real turn-off. So it would not make a very good DAC either.
See my other post. its very easy to replace the mechanism. Theres a printboard that seems to be hard to remove, but beware, you only need to remove the screews that holds the brassboard, and all the cables. Then You have acces to the Mec, wich only needs four screews to remove and thats it. Should only need half an our or so.
Good luck. Niels Peter - Denmark
PS Actually You can disable the automatic standby. Read the manual, cant remember the procedure.
