Re: start up

Good Morning!
DIficult to see this kind of problem here, but, there alternatives
May be, something with the video modulator, or RAMS,
other things like that, may be "virus" but if you go on save mode and try to run, ( IF YOU CAN) the complete antivirus, try that!

If you have the recovery disks attempt to do a repair operation booting off of the recovery disks. If no got you either have to get a set from Gateway or just do a clean install of windows with regular install disk.

When i turn on the power for my speakers it hums like crazy

do they hum when you unplug the audio jack from the PC?
If they stop humming when disconnected the problem will be down to a bad earth connection on the motherboard, or a failing power supply (rectifier circuit)
Humming is normally a result of voltage potential and the 50hz frequency in the mains.

Hope this helps

I believe your laptop is blown due to power unstability. You should take it the tech department for your laptop to be checked ok.
I hope this solution has been helpful.

My speakers started buzzing and making a horrible noise during the night. I had to unplug them to get it to stop. What's going on?

Feedback. Check the wires, might have a bad connection. Wiggle them around and see if the buzz sound stops or changes. If that happens, its usually that wire. Good Luck.

Crackling sound

That sounds like an internal fault on your Bose system.

Leave the Bose unplugged from power and from computer for one hour, to get rid of electrostatic charges accumulated inside capacitors.
If that does not get rid of the problem, then there is an internal fault, either a short on speaker wiring, or a fault on the internal amp circuit board.

I can't get in to my user account.

Try to competelly shut down your laptop by pressing the On/Off button for approximatelly 5 seconds...

Once is shutted down, try to start it again.
If you are unable to start up your notebook, then try pressing F8 after the initial screen is displayed. Not wait too long because otherwise it will try to start Windows again. The F8 key must be pressed BEFORE windows starts.... Then, you will see several options...Choose the one that says "Safe Mode". By doing this you will be able to access your notebook and reinstall Windows again. Only do this if you were unable to start windows in standard mode.

Hope it helps.

No sound from logitech speakers, they worked 2 songs and then stop working i ve got control whit buttons on top of speaker but no sound please help

FOR MACS... Last February(08) I bought the V20 Logitech speakers for my Apple iBook laptop. I got them to work. Hadn't used them for about a year and had forgotten how to get the sound to emerge. I went to System Preferences. Clicked on Sound. I had plugged in the USB. Didn't show up. Unplugged it and plugged in again and there it was! I clicked on it and the sound came through immediately. So wait to plug in the speakers until you have opened Sound. (And Pandora (superb Internet radio station) is playing flawlessly.) I am not familiar with PCs. Sorry.

Bose companion speakers

hmmm.. well if you system is like mine it has multiple ports for sound. Try the speaker plug in the front of the machine.. better yet .. to ascertain whether or not it is your speakers or sound card issue then plug some headphones in to the port and see if you have sound. Never forget the basics the sound muted? Open your sound eq application and see if the wave output is turned down.

Keep me posted!!! and Good luck!

Annoying humming sound coming from subwoofer...

The humming sound usually comes from the DC supply that is not filtered. The a/c converted or changed to DC needs to be "cleaned", before going into the ckt. Usually the capacitor and resistor network go bad, maybe causing the fuse to open. Even if you replace it, u may still have the "humming" because the circuit is still bad.
If you know how to look at the capacitor, resistor,or coils AFTER the diodes & replace the damaged part, u should be good!
